CharityPokerNW is shifting gears a little in 2009. With today's economy in a rut we are all having to cut back, even with our kids sports. My oldest daughter [and about 50 of her closest friends] play soccer for Tualatin Hills United Soccer Club. Most of you might recognize them as THUSC. Even though my daughters team, and several others, are defending state champions, they are having to re-evaluate tournament schedules and participation. I have offered up the services of CharityPokerNW to help in this cause so these great and upcoming soccer players can continue to grow and develop and the club can continue to be a strong influence in their lives.

The Nuts

• Participation
Whether your son or daughter plays for United, or even if you have friends who's son/daughter plays, I encourage you to participate in one or all of the upcoming events. I am only going to hold 4 or 5 events this year so participation needs to be at an all time high.
• The Split
As I mentioned earlier we live in tough economic times so I am going to keep the buy-ins and re-buys small. $25 will get you $100 worth of chips. $20 re-buy will get you $50. Re-buys will continue for the first 1.5 hours after the first deal. 50% of the proceeds will go directly to the United club, 50% will go directly to my daughters team. Now, if you are a parent for another United team, feel free to contact me and I will throw a tournament for your team where 50% will go directly to your team and 50% to the club.
As gesture of good faith, CharityPokerNW will donate 100% of its normal cut directly to the kitty to be split amongst the team and club. Meaning, we are doing this for FREE.
• The Ante
I am working on a venue that will be donated for all events. I am also working with locale restaurants and retails to obtain donations. If we can, we will hold silent auctions at every poker night event to help raise even more revenue.
• The Booty
The winner and second place will receive a prize packages. They will probably contain gift cards, meals at restaurants, etc. Tough to tell right now until we have solidified donations.

The Skinny

I will put together a list at every event that praises the people/companies that donated items for that event. I will also post on this site the amount raised and which team the event was held for.
